Usk Choral Festival 2026

On Thursday 2nd July 2026 Cwmbran Baroque Singers were delighted to take part in the highly successful 2026 Usk Choral Festival, where £2,170 was raised for the music charity, Anthem.

We sang in the Church of St Mary's, Usk, in a concert shared with Spirit Choir and More than a Song Community Choir. Ours was the first concert in a programme of eleven events, featuring thirty-three choirs and two workshop sessions.

What a fun evening we enjoyed that night at the Usk Choral Festival! More Than A Song Community Choir and Spirit Choir shared St Mary’s Church with us. Probably hard to imagine three more different choirs but we were all on top form (we hope) and treated the audience to a wonderful range of song. Many thanks to the organisers for giving us this opportunity

Carol's conducting, training and encouragement, and Gaynor's wonderful piano playing and our own singing came together perfectly that night.

Drew Morton, Anne Goldsworthy and the hardworking band of volunteers who organise the Usk Choral Festival every two years really are to be congratulated on bringing so many choirs together into such an enjoyable occasion - with so little apparent fuss!
