St Basil's Church looks beautiful and is well looked after, but it still needs funds for some major repairs.

Concert at St Basil's Church, Bassaleg

Past Events Jun 16, 2026

The choir sang in St Basil's Church, Bassaleg on the evening of 27th June. The Rev Christopher Stone invited us to perform to raise funds to help restore the fabric of this ancient church.

We are pleased to announce that £753.00 was raised in aid of church funds.

It was another wonderful concert. It is some years since we were able to perform at St Basil's, but one lady told us she remembered that concert and had clearly enjoyed it. This time we were made very welcome by all at St Basil’s and the audience seemed to enjoy our selection of music.

Not a dry eye in the house by the end of our men’s rendition of ‘Tell my father’ and lots of happy faces listening to our ladies’ rendition of ‘Sound the trumpet’. Beautiful flute playing by Sylvia and solos from Tim and Anne. Accompanist Gaynor and Musical Director Carol excellent - as usual - thank you ladies.

Afterwards we were all treated to very welcome drinks to round off a very warm evening
