The next Cwmbran Baroque Singers Concert is on Saturday 5th April in St John the Baptist Church, Risca Road, Newport NP20 4LP at 7.30pm.

The programme will consist of Johannes Brahms's magnificent Ein deutsches Requiem, unusual in its time because it was composed specifically in the German language, rather than using the Latin language more usually associated with a Requiem Mass.

A powerful work of this kind best suits a powerful choir and instrumental accompaniment and it is with this in mind that Carol Williams has invited former choir members and former pupils of her own and of our President, Alan Moore, to come to rehearsals and perform with us.

Considering all these factors, who better to accompany this work than Orchestra De Cymru? We have been fortunate in the past to be accompanied by this versatile group of professional players and the choir is very much looking forward to singing with them once again.

We very much hope that our performance in April will do full justice to Brahms's composition. All seems set for a wonderful evening.
