Joint Concert with Harmonize
Cwmbran Baroque Singers and Harmonize teamed up for a joint concert in Holy Trinity Church, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran on Saturday 28th June at 7pm. NP44 1AT

Our contribution included:
Palestrina - Exsultate Deo
Wildhorn - Tell my father
Mendelssohn - The Lark
Monteverdi - Pur ti mio
arr. Moore - A Welsh Fantasia
Joel - And so it goes
The two choirs have rather different traditions. Whereas Cwmbran Baroque began its life bringing lesser known early music to Cwmbran's audiences, Harmonize started out as The New Harmony Singers, sharing the kind of music its audiences might hear on Radio 2.
Both choirs have extended the scope of their repertoires since then, and between us we offered the audience choral pieces in a very wide range of musical styles.
Among Harmonize's pieces were:
Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah
Hush-a-bye Mountain from Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang
The Weatherman - Sea Shanty
Medley from Wicked
There was a lovely, lively, friendly atmosphere in the church and it was clear that everyone enjoyed the music very much. Both Cwmbran Baroque and Harmonize may have gained some new fans on Saturday night.
Holy Trinity is a small, attractive Victorian church, tucked away in a lovely green churchyard. Drive in through the gates, just uphill from Pontnewydd village, in Cwmbran .

We were very much looking forward to singing in this lovely church and were delighted to share the concert with Harmonize.
