50th Anniversary Dinner January 2023
As a final step in marking the fiftieth birthday of Cwmbran Baroque Singers, we spent the evening of Saturday 21st January 2023 at The Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel, near Usk. We enjoyed a very good meal in extremely pleasant surroundings and were able to catch up with past and present singers and friends.
It was lovely to see so many people enjoying an evening together, especially as everyone had braved the thick, freezing fog of Monmouthshire to reach our very rural venue.
Many thanks are due to our Accompanist, Martyn Ridge, who organised the event for us so well.
Alan Moore Tribute Concert July 2022
The concert on the evening of Saturday 9th July was rather special. Originally planned as a combined concert to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and Cwmbran Baroque Singers’ 50th Year, it in fact was choir’s opportunity to thank retiring Musical Director Alan Moore and his wife, Sandra, for their years of dedication to the choir.
Here is the poster produced to advertise this event. At the end of the concert everyone received a delicious cupcake, decorated with the choir’s emblem.
Choir’s former members and former pupils of Alan and Sandra Moore were invited to join in and sing with us on the second half of the concert. Fortunately this invitation reached quite a number of alumni and some of them gathered to be photographed with Alan and Sandra after the concert. All received a corsage to wear during the performance.
