Our former accompanist: Mr Martyn Ridge

Cwmbran Baroque has been so fortunate to have had the dedicated work of Martyn Ridge as accompanist for so many years. We wish him well in his retirement and are delighted to have gained him as a tenor, instead!

Martyn began his musical career with piano and organ lessons as a child, passing grade 8 with distinction.  This won him a scholarship to the Royal School of Music, but a career in Lloyds Bank beckoned.

He has held posts of Organist and Choirmaster at various churches from age 14 including All Saints, Newport;  St Mark’s, Newport and St Mary’s, Abergavenny.  Martyn is currently Organist and Choirmaster at St Denys Lisvane, Cardiff, where he directs a strong and thriving church choir.
